I absolutely love where my job takes me, and this project was certainly one for the metaphysical musical books. I had the honor of working closely with Paul Schrader to help produce the songs and soundtrack for his film, The Card Counter, starring Oscar Isaac and Tiffany Haddish.

I had an amazing time chatting with Pop Axiom about my work composing the film score for the film Huracán on HBO and HBO Max. It is always such a pleasure when I get asked about the actual metaphysial approach and narrative implications of the score. Instead of telling you what I said, here is the link to read it.
It was a really great honor to be on the Comic-Con film panel for their SAM (Storytelling Across Media) series, talking about my work as a film composer. My thoughts on scoring for film and television have evolved over the years, but one thing that has remained constant is that it is not about the music you write, but about the narrative, you help tell. And while there were quite a few panelists with varied experiences, it seems that we could all have reached that conclusion. Hope you enjoy the panel, and I really appreciate that Comic-Con is putting out such great content for filmmakers.

It is always an honor to work with brands that value custom music, so when UBTech had me score there new JIMU commercial, I was really excited. They wanted a score that was between a pop track and inspirational orchestral track, that grows over time as the children grow. Sometimes my work as a music producer, Electropoint,intersects with my work as a film composer. I was honored to produce the track and score the music video for reality TV Star and formidable artist Honey Davenport’s “Draw the Blood”. Not only was Honey amazing to work with (again!) but Aja (from Ru Paul’s Drag Race) also came on board. The song debuted at #26 on the iTunes Dance Charts. Couldn’t be more happy to do a song that blends classical, pop, edm, and hiphop all to drive home a meaningful message.
Scoring Misha Calvert’s series on BRIC TV, All Hail Beth, was an absolute highlight for me. And while I absolutely love the music that Misha got out of me, I am so grateful that so many other people felt the same way – enough so that it debuted at #25 on the iTunes Soundtrack charts.
